Parent tips for the summer and returning to school
We wish all parents and families a relaxing summer and a break away from home learning and the role of teacher that you have all had for the past four months. There is no real break for parents so we have put together some resources to help pass the time, keep you all active and mentally stimulated. For those pupils who have come in to 'Meet the Teacher'sessions they will all receive a wellbeing pack, there are spares in school reception. There are activities and ideas for all the family. Although the connections with school will lessen over the summer holidays, please keep up connections with friends and family even if is only virtual. We are fortunate to have such well-kept outdoor spaces in and around Canterbury and the local coast – so we hope that you get out as much as possible. The summer may fly by and soon it will be time to return to school, can you all please encourage your children to keep up good hygiene habits, particularly handwashing so that it is routine before we return.
We are also pleased to announce that in September we will have two trainee Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners; Gracie Barden and Danielle Goddard here supporting parents of our school. They have recorded a helpful presentation for parents on 'Managing children’s worries and returning to school after lockdown' – it is a worthy watch. (link will expire after two weeks). Stay safe this summer (Jo Sazant, Sally Millsted, Kym Amos and Emma Connolly - The Wellbeing team)
