Year 4 is a crucial year, as it forms the transition between the lower school and upper school. It is a year where children consolidate learning from year 3, building on their progress to prepare them for year 5. The children are encouraged to be more independant; to take responsibility for themselves, their property and their action.

In Year 4 we aim to make learning relevant, purposeful and fun, through our topic based approach. The children are taught to be curious, to question and to explore their ideas through a variety of activities. Where ever possible we try to make these activities cross-curricular so that children can see the link between subjects. The children will use key-skills such as problem-solving and research; demonstrating their understand through individual, paired and group work.

Please feel free to visit the activities page for Year 4 where we occasionally display images and information on work currently being undertaken by our pupils.

For information on our school-wide curriculum, please visit our CURRICULUM page.

If you're an existing parent or carer and want to find out about uniform prices, the school menu, latest news, school trips, term dates, etc. please feel free to visit our PARENT PORTAL.

Each year group has its own CLASS DOJO. This is a communication platform that allows parents to contact your child's class teacher. It's also a place where we can show you what your child's class have been doing and to share and celebrate children's achievements. By using the log in details provided by your year group, you can log in and use the Class Dojo.
